Well\u2026<\/div>\n
I think the saying shouldn\u2019t be \u201cManagers should code X%<\/i> of their time\u201d. That\u2019s just a tabloid\/provocative headline, and it\u2019s about getting a higher CTR (I took it one step further, ha!)\u2026<\/div>\n
This is about what you base your leadership<\/b> on.<\/div>\n
Leadership can come from a lot of places:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • You can be the most charismatic guy in the room.<\/li>\n
  • You may have superior technical skills.<\/li>\n
  • You can have awesome interpersonal skills and the ability to find what drives any other person.<\/li>\n
  • You may have all the right answers and be great in prioritizing tasks.<\/li>\n
  • Or very big balls\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    In many cases, leadership is about a combination of the above (not limited to it, obviously).<\/div>\n
    What I strongly believe in, is that you can\u2019t be a great leader and an excellent manager if there\u2019s not a minimal amount of each ingredient.<\/div>\n
      \n
    • If you don\u2019t have any charisma – you\u2019re a handicapped leader.<\/li>\n
    • If you have no clue regarding the technology your team is using – you\u2019re a handicapped manager.<\/li>\n
    • If you lack interpersonal skills – you\u2019re handicapped.<\/li>\n
    • If you can\u2019t say what\u2019s right and what\u2019s next – handicapped.<\/li>\n
    • No guts? Handicapped\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Choose your strengths, make them stronger\u2026 but don\u2019t ignore your weaknesses! No one wants to follow a handicapped leader (and with no followers, who will you lead?)<\/div>\n
